Chinese Introduction


Missisauga Chinese Arts Organization (MCAO) is a non-profit comprehensive amateur arts association and an only multi-medium performance group in Mississauga among Chinese communities. The group is formed by local residents on Jan 29, 2005, over 50 members at present. The objectives of the group are to promote the multi-culture and to entertain the community.

Trained and guided by professional actors/actress, dancers and vocalists, the group's practice and performance include Chinese waist drum, Chinese folk dances, martial arts, Chinese fashion, choir, solo and musical instruments.

MCAO has participated, for the past three years, Canada Day celebration at Port Credit, Carassauga, Chinese Arts Festival at Living Arts Centre, Christmas celebration of ACORN group, Chinese New Year celebration for Madarin-Pinyin International Language Schools at Streetsville and John Fraser Secondary Schools, Christmas Parade at Streetsville and retired groups, etc. The City TV of Canada has visited our group and had a short program to introduce our members and our performance. We have also collaborated with other groups and associations to entertain our communities.

We welcome all people who are interested in Chinese culture to join our group and we provide trainings for our members.

We would like to contribute our talents of arts to our community.
